The Tigers were a struggling team that had not make the playoffs in 25 year. The last time was when new coach Jack Cunningham played for the team. He turned the team into winners and returned them to the playoffs while struggling with personal demons. The team and story are told in the 2021 film, The Way Back starring Ben Affleck.
