The 1974 Longhorns featured the one-two punch of running backs Hank Hill and the Bill-Dozer, Bill Dautrive. Dautrive anchored the offensive line and opened holes for Hill but was often brought as a running back in goal line situations. The team fell short in the state championship game as the special teams and Hank's ankle "broke down" in the title game.
Hill finished his high school career with several state rushing records and went on to sell propane and propane accessories. The two stars remained friends and are still seen hanging out together in Arlen.
